The Commonwealth Games in 2014 saw 1.4 million spectators and 6,500 athletes and team officials visit Glasgow - making it the biggest event not only Glasgow but Scotland has ever hosted. As the official vending machine technical service provider for the games, the Abercromby team was on call 24 hours a day over the 16 day event, servicing 84 vending machines in 14 venues including the Athletes Village. Throughout the event, we successfully met our target of responding to any maintenance call and restoring the machine within 2 hours. This included the first Saturday of the games on which we received 52 call-outs over a 24 hour period. We are proud to have played our part in this memorable event and to have given Glasgow the best the vending industry has to offer.
